Since 2009 Emanuele travels to developing countries as a volunteer photographer for the NGO SmileTrain Italia, now called Emergenza Sorrisi (www.emergenzasorrisi.it).

These photographs were taken in Cotonou, Benin (2011), Kinshasa, R.D.C. (2010) and Tarakan, Indonesia (2009).

A selection of these images was exhibited in Rome in 2010 at the Mastroianni Museum and at the Auditorium, Parco della Musica.
